Ken Botwinick, CPA is a Partner with Botwinick & Company, LLC and has been with the firm for more than 25 years. Ken specializes in providing accounting, tax, and business consulting services to dental and medical practices. He established the firm’s dental practice and is a sought-after lecturer at dental continuing education programs. Ken has his “finger on the pulse of the dental industry,” and with comprehensive experience in ownership transitions, he assists clients in the healthcare industry to reach their professional and financial aspirations and goals.
In addition to accounting, tax, and consulting engagements with dental and healthcare practices, Ken provides a wide range of services to medium-sized and closely held businesses. Over the past decade, Ken has also played an integral role in the success of numerous technology start-up clients in Europe and Israel. By providing specialized tax guidance and back-office support, Ken has supported many entities as they transitioned from one-person organizations to 100-person venture-capital-backed enterprises.

Michael Emr, CPA is a Partner with Botwinick & Company, LLC and has been with the firm since 2008. Michael’s practice encompasses tax compliance and accounting services for small to mid-sized businesses, individuals, and trusts and estates. He has extensive experience representing clients in front of the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities, and resolving matters that include the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). Michael also has significant experience with estate tax audits, compliance reporting issues, voluntary disclosures, installment agreements, and personal and corporate income tax audits.
With over 25 years of experience in public accounting, Michael’s has broad expertise in taxation and tax planning strategies, including corporate, partnership, trust and estate, and individual tax compliance. Michael has in-depth experience with high-level income tax compliance services, including multi-state allocations and consolidations. His accounting and advisory services also include corporate reorganizations, bank financing and capitalization, and financial planning.
Michael’s background includes management and leadership positions, serving as an executive for a financial services corporation and as a member of the Board of Directors for various non-profit groups. He takes pride in providing a high level of client service, developing close relationships with clients, and helping clients reach their goals and achieve success.
Ryan Malone, CPA is a Partner with Botwinick & Company, LLC and heads the firm’s Real Estate Practice. Ryan works side by side with sponsors, owners, investment funds and managers of all types of real estate to develop practical approaches to tax and accounting matters and resolve issues expeditiously. He has consulted clients in all phases of the real estate life cycle, from shovel in the ground development to profitable exits.
Ryan also works with professional practices (dental, medical and legal) and their executives as well as high-net-worth individual clients.
As a reliable, efficient, and tech-savvy CPA, Ryan embraces various cloud-based technologies to reduce administrative burdens and allow more time to focus on value-added business consulting and tax planning. Ryan was recognized as one of NJBIZ’s “Forty Under 40” for his commitment to business growth, professional standards, and community service.
When not finding business efficiencies and saving taxes for his clients, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife, daughters and dog and hacking up golf courses.
Paul Levine, CPA is a Partner at Botwinick & Company, LLC and has been with the firm since 2005. Paul specializes in corporate and personal taxation and business management for New York and New Jersey clients. His business management expertise includes budgeting and financial statement analysis. Paul’s concentration is in corporate and personal taxation and business management, including budgeting and financial statement analysis.
Prior to joining Botwinick & Company, LLC, Paul worked at a large regional accounting firm where he served as a Controller for several privately held companies. He brings deep hands-on experience to Botwinick & Company, LLC and is adept at developing successful planning strategies and solutions to help companies grow and increase their bottom line.
Steven (Steve) Carmosino, MBA, CPA is a Partner with Botwinick & Company, LLC and has been with the firm since 2015. Steve provides accounting and business valuation services to business owners in a wide array of industries. He specializes in helping contractors implement business changes that positively impact cash flow and increase their bonding limits. Steve has a concentration in serving the retail, hospitality, real estate, and construction industries, and is adept at providing sound financial guidance that maximizes cash flow and minimizes tax.
With over 30 years of experience helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, Steve has been a trusted financial advisor for many organizations. He has strong knowledge of the real estate industry, and has been an expert witness in litigation support services. Steve is currently seeking his NSSA designation, a National Social Security Advisor, to help clients navigate the complexities of collecting social security.
Magdalena recently joined Botwinick and Company, LLC as our Controller and brings with her nearly 15 years of experience in public accounting.
Magdalena’s background includes accounting, income tax compliance, and tax planning for various industries such as medical, manufacturing, real estate, and professional services. She also has experience in effectively leading assurance work including compilations, reviews, and audits of various entities including real estate, medical and healthcare, and manufacturing.
Since joining us, Magdalena has been instrumental with her involvement in the firm’s in-house training, process workflow, and software implementation. She has quickly become one of our key players in the preparation and review process of clients’ business and individual tax returns.
James C. Jin, MST, CPA is a Director with Botwinick & Company, LLC and has been with the firm since 2012. With over ten years of public accounting experience, James focuses on clients in various industries, including dental, medical, manufacturing, technology, and professional services.
James provides a wide range of tax and financial services that meet each client’s unique objectives. He has significant experience improving clients’ business operations and maximizing profitability. With a detailed approach to client service, James guided many start-up businesses and helped them achieve financial well-being. He is also well-versed in the dynamic and complex accounting and tax challenges of small and medium-sized businesses.
Marc Ben-Ami, CPA, CFE is a Director at Botwinick & Company, LLC and leads our Forensic Accounting engagements. He has been with the firm since 2014. Marc specializes in providing forensic accounting, tax, and accounting services to clients in various industries with a concentration in medical, automotive parts and services, and real estate. He provides a wide range of tax and bookkeeping services to individuals and businesses, as well. As a trusted advisor to small businesses, Marc guides business owners with complex financial decisions and focuses on profitability and tax minimization strategies.
With over 20 years of forensic accounting experience, Marc has an expertise in advising clients on their accounting controls and procedures to mitigate fraud risk. He is adept in business insurance claim consulting, contract disputes, investigative analysis, and corporate investigations. Marc has been retained as an Expert Witness on several matters for both State and Federal court cases. He has presented lectures at Syracuse University and William Paterson University on economic crime and fraud investigations.
Howard Hyde, CPA is a Director at Botwinick & Company, LLC. With over 30 years of experience, Howard specializes in providing accounting, tax compliance, and tax planning services to closely-held businesses and high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Botwinick & Company, LLC, Howard was a Manager with a top 15 national accounting firm.
In addition to helping high net worth individuals and closely-held businesses with their financial matters, Howard prepares and reviews corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns. His expertise spans various industries, including real estate, staffing, entertainment, and other professional service businesses. Howard has significant experience supervising and reviewing compilation and review engagements prepared under GAAP and income tax basis. He is also proficient at preparing and reviewing partnership allocations and distributions under contractual agreements. With a hands-on approach to client service, Howard ensures that clients’ expectations are always exceeded.
Clarissa Stadnick, CPA is a Director with Botwinick & Company, LLC. With over 15 years of experience, Clarissa specializes in providing accounting, compilation, review and audit services to clients in various industries, with a concentration in construction, not for profit, whole-sale and manufacturing.
Clarissa has significant experience supervising, reviewing, and managing compilation, review, and audit engagements prepared under GAAP and income tax basis. With a client-first approach, Clarissa ensures that clients receive the knowledge they need to make key business decisions, while delivering a high-quality engagement service.
Kevin Violick, CPA is a Manager with Botwinick & Company, LLC and has been with the firm for over six years. Before joining Botwinick & Company, LLC Kevin started his career at a ‘Big Four’ accounting firm within their assurance practice where he brings experience working with various public and private clients. Kevin specializes in providing tax, accounting, and assurance services to clients in a wide range of industries, such as real estate, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and retail. Using a holistic approach to provide value-added and results-oriented services, clients can shift their focus from routine operational procedures, to developing and growing their business.
Kevin takes prides in being attentive and responsive to client needs by providing interactive support and real-time solutions. Together with his colleagues, Kevin builds strong relationships with clients, and consistently seeks new opportunities to identify and integrate technology to streamline accounting procedures and create operational efficiencies within their businesses.
